Hilton Hotel, Washington DC

Project Description:

Creating this 1250 room full service hotel in historic Washington, D.C. presented many challenges in fitting such a large facility within a building envelope limited by the nation’s Capitol Dome. WBTA put over 50% of the building mass underground and then spread the guestroom wings out over the site in a graceful curving form.  This gave every guestroom a view with light, space and air.  The curve allowed for an efficient double loaded corridor while breaking the endless vista that usually occurs in such long buildings.
